Women In Finance Charter

On the 11th, July 2024, IFS Skillnet were delighted to sponsor the lunch at the publication of the Irelands Women in Finance Charter second annual report. This event was held in Dublin Castle, attended by Neale Richmond TD and over 200 industry representatives.

The second annual report showcases the advancement achieved by 81 signatories and their employees, with notable increase in workplace gender equality. The report shows that among the Charter’s original signatories, female representation on boards increased to 39pc at the beginning of this year, up from 33pc at the same time in 2022.On executive committees, the figure increased to 37pc, up from 33pc in 2022. And at CEO level, 25pc of these firms’ had female CEOs, whereas in 2022 the figure was 21pc.

It was clear from the view of the panel of speakers that every company had the responsibility to continuously seek ways to promote gender equality in the work place and see this as a priority, ensuring the momentum continues. Companies that have not yet signed the charter were encouraged to do so promptly, demonstrating the impactful changes that signatory firms can make to improve opportunities for women working in the Financial Services in Ireland. The report also pointed out upskilling and training programmes as efficient ways for companies to maintain and increase female participation.
